It looks like it will take something very special to stop Tom Brewster and Eve Muirhead from defending their titles – they are the only undefeated teams in Perth.
Day 3 of The Co-operative Funeralcare Scottish Curling Championships saw Eve comfortably defeat her 2010 Winter Olympic teammate Jackie Lockhart this afternoon – Team Muirhead eased past 2002 World Champion Lockhart 10-3 in seven ends.
Team Brewster needed an extra-end steal to see off Warwick Smith 8-7 in a repeat of last year’s final – they scored the same number of shots earlier in the day against Glen Muirhead 8-4.
Elsewhere, there were solid wins for Hannah Fleming who sits in joint second place with Jennifer Martin but last season’s finalist Gail Munro is struggling with no wins and four losses.
In the men’s draw, Hammy McMillan is up and running with his first win this evening against Neil Joss. One game that provided an interesting linescore was David Edwards against Kyle Smith – Smith led 2-0 going into the sixth but Edwards came away with an 8-3 win after eight.
